City of Perth community services for seniors will transition to a new, more modern facility from next week.
The City of Perth has provided services to people aged over 55, and those with a disability, at the Rod Evans Community Centre since 2012.
Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said the transition to Citiplace Community Centre will provide easier access for people due to its central location, and proximity to the Perth train station and new Busport.
“Citiplace is a warm, welcoming environment and far more modern, which allows the City of Perth to provide high quality, affordable services to the entire community,” Ms Scaffidi said.
“The consolidation of services into one location will allow the City to invest in new innovative programs and activities.
“The City has liaised with stakeholders over the last few months to ensure a seamless transition, which includes the successful co-location of podiatry and fitness services at Citiplace.”
The National Council of Women WA, East Perth Play Group and the Child and Adolescent Health Service will continue to operate from the Rod Evans Community Centre.
